Do you find the automatic launch of the Server Manager a pest?
I do.
I admit it is a great tool. But, I rarely use it.
I spend most of my time knee-deep in Exchange consoles. That’s my focus. So, when I log in to a server to do something real quick that extra delay of launching and closing the Server Manager is a nuisance.
Thankfully, Microsoft lets you disable this.
A few quick steps
The process is identical on both Server 2012 and 2012 R2.
I’ve created a simple 2-minute video. Prefer written instructions? I have them right below.
- Launch Server Manager.
- In the top right of the screen click Manage.
- From the context menu select Server Manager Options.
- Check Do not start Server Manager automatically at logon.
- Click Ok.
Server Manager will not launch the next time you log on.
