2014: What a crazy year!

How was your 2014?

For me, it was a crazy rollercoaster of peaks and valleys. But, what a ride! And I’d surely do it again.

Valleys?

You might think that doesn’t sound too good. But you have to ask yourself; can you truly appreciate the peaks without the valleys?

I want to thank everyone for making this site such a wonderful success. We had 280,000 views in 2014! That’s truly amazing!

With your continued support–your shares, your likes, your follows–I am sure we can continue this upward trend.

Never could I have imagined that 12 months ago, when I was writing my first post at 12:39 am on January 1st, 2014, that this site would grow to the extent it has. Thank you!

Without you, there is no need for me. So, as always, I desire your feedback. Good or bad.

MVE Award

Experts-Exchange

As many of you know I am a huge fan of Experts Exchange. I truly believe the massive exposure to more problems and more solutions makes me a sharper consultant. There have been plenty of times I have resolved a customer issue as a direct result of my participation on Experts Exchange (and vice versa).

I also want to commend Brian Clausen (and the rest of the team) for all the great work they are doing. We have seen countless hours of development pour into Experts Exchange this past year. As well as the establishment of a new community management team. This team, along with all others at E-E, is truly creating a sense of family and community. It is a joy to volunteer at Experts Exchange. I am sure 2015 will be the best year yet!

So, what’s this MVE Award thing?

Gareth Gudger Experts Exchange

That heading may sound like a sponsored blog post but I assure you it isn’t. I can safely say I have never done a paid review. Nor do I ever plan to.

So, what’s the reason for this post?

Well, two reasons.

First, I hit a major milestone at Experts Exchange.

Yep! I am quite elated right now!

Second, I have always wanted to write this post. But, so many others were pressing to be written first.

So, what’s the major milestone?

The new face (mask) of SuperTekBoy

Yep. I did it. After lots of success with this blog, I decided it was time to take it to the next level. I have moved off the free hosting offered by WordPress and onto GoDaddy’s premium WordPress hosting. I highly recommend GoDaddy for WordPress hosting.

I had some reservations about the transition but I have to say it all went exceptionally well. The WordPress application was a one-click install and the Import/Export feature worked flawlessly. Coupled with my previously great experiences with GoDaddy and their unbeatable sale price right now it was an absolute no-brainer. A great decision thus far.

Not only that but it was time to register a domain name. So, here I am, 12:39 am on January 1st, 2014, on my brand new www.supertekboy.com domain. And to top it off this is my very first post of 2014! I hope this is the first of many more posts to come!

I also have supertekboy.wordpress.com redirecting straight here so, all your favorite blog posts are still easily found on any search engine.

And that’s not all! We have a new mascot! I hope you like him.

SuperTekBoy

I want to thank you all for making this such a successful blog. Thank you for all the comments and feedback. I was glad to help wherever I could and I hope to continue that trend for many years to come. As always, your comments and feedback are always appreciated.

Best wishes to everyone and a Happy New Year!
